In May 2019 we hosted our
2nd Annual
“Be In The Know”
Youth Conference at
Stonehill College.

The 2nd Annual Be In The Know Youth Conference was a tremendous success of 2019. It brought together over 115 student leaders and 35 youth advisers and volunteers from 14 different schools in the region. The day was packed full of activities, presentations and fun and you could genuinely feel a sense of youth empowerment in the room.

The conference agenda consisted of student led presentations, a world café break out session led by two of the Collaborative’s high school interns, keynote speaker Matt Ganem, music by DJ New New, dancing and a whole lot of fun.

Throughout the entire day, students were encouraged to meet peers from different school districts, learn innovative youth prevention strategies, and engage in rich discussion about how substance use affects their schools and communities and potential solutions to make lasting change.

DJ Nuno, the best DJ around, joined us for the 2nd year in a row. Thank you NewNew Musik for always creating such a fun & upbeat atmosphere for everyone in attendance.

“It kept the interest of the students by giving away prizes throughout the event. Students spoke to each other about what they were doing to make a difference in their own schools. I think it was nice that there was a DJ so the students could listen to music they enjoyed throughout the event as well.”
